Arch Tech was Commissioned by Episcopal Housing Corporation, this project involved the restoration of three row houses that were little more than piles of rubble to create an Oxford House, a democratically-run, self-supporting home for people recovering from alcohol and substance abuse. Arch Tech’s resulting design connected the interiors of the three contiguous row houses to provide a single dwelling that can house up to seven residents. The home features seven bedrooms, two bathrooms and common areas including a kitchen, a laundry area, a and backyard as well as a living area on each level. The design conforms to the stringent requirements of Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards with a handicapped accessible bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and laundry room and an electric platform lift that offers wheelchair access from the street.

Despite a limited budget and the dilapidated conditions of the existing buildings, Arch Tech was able to successfully complete this renovation, effectively anchoring the transformation of an entire neighborhood block with the support of the Episcopal Housing Corporation and the Collington Square Neighborhood Association.
