Arch Tech Design, LLC designed the renovation and adaptation of a former John Deere dealership and repair shop in Towson to be used as the principal offices of award winning residential contractor American Contracting Services, Inc. In addition to offices, the renovated space includes a showroom of home products and a leasable tenant space comprising about one third of the net floor area.
The building appears to be one story from the street but is actually built on a slope and has a basement on one end that is accessible from the rear. The main floor at this end, and the basement, has offices and includes accessible restrooms, a break area and conference room. The main entry is at the center of the building and opens into the showroom and reception area. The remainder of the building is occupied by a financial services company and includes a reception area, board room, offices, accessible restroom and break area. This tenant space has its own entrance. The exterior was modified with a gable over each entrance (a larger gable at the owner’s entrance). The gable form is adapted from the corporate logo of American Contracting Services, Inc.
